Helping Relieve Jaw Pain, Tension & Dysfunction

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) refers to conditions affecting the jaw joints, muscles, and surrounding structures involved in chewing, speaking, and overall jaw function. TMD can contribute to a wide range of uncomfortable symptoms that often impact daily life and sleep quality.

Common signs and symptoms of TMD may include:

  • Jaw pain or soreness
  • Clicking or popping of the jaw
  • Difficulty opening or closing the mouth
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Facial pain or muscle tension
  • Teeth grinding or clenching
  • Neck and shoulder discomfort
  • Ear pain, pressure, or ringing

TMD is often multifactorial and may be related to bite imbalance, muscle tension, airway issues, stress, joint inflammation, or clenching and grinding habits.

At our office, we take a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating TMD by evaluating the teeth, bite, jaw joints, muscles, and airway. Treatment is tailored to each patient and may include oral appliance therapy, bite optimization, muscle and joint therapy, airway-focused treatment, and advanced laser therapy to help reduce discomfort and improve function.

Our goal is not only to relieve symptoms but also to help improve long-term comfort, jaw stability, and overall quality of life.
